How Our Leaflet Design Helped Patients Understand BioEP™
At Cobo Creative, we believe great communication design should do more than just look good—it should create clarity, build trust, and empower people to make informed decisions. That’s exactly what we set out to do when Neuronostics approached us to design a patient leaflet explaining their pioneering technology, BioEP™.
BioEP™ is a powerful tool that uses computational modelling of brain activity to support faster, more accurate epilepsy diagnosis. But for patients unfamiliar with neurological science or digital biomarkers, the concept can be complex and even overwhelming. That’s where thoughtful design makes all the difference.
Clarity through Simplicity
We designed a 6-panel A5 fold-out leaflet with a clear, structured narrative that walks the patient through BioEP™—what it is, how it works, and why it matters—without unnecessary jargon. By translating technical explanations into plain, patient-friendly language, and combining them with intuitive visual cues, we helped patients feel more informed and reassured.
Design with Empathy
We approached this project with the mindset of a patient. How might it feel to be undergoing tests for epilepsy? What questions might arise? What tone feels supportive, not clinical? Our layout, language, and colour palette were carefully chosen to create a calm, accessible and reassuring experience, turning what could be a daunting piece of science into something digestible and even hopeful.

Patients don’t just want answers—they want confidence in the tools and teams supporting their care. Our design frames BioEP™ within the broader context of patient wellbeing, helping to build trust in both the technology and Neuronostics as a forward-thinking, patient-focused company.
