Pharmaceutical Communications for Vectura
Programme: Reach
Vectura developed inhaled medicines from its base in Chippenham. In 2019 it set out a new strategy, offering its formulation and device expertise to other companies as a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), and in 2020 it introduced a new identity to go with it. The pandemic followed, then two changes of company ownership. We worked with Vectura through all of it, from 2019 to 2024, on nearly 100 jobs for its communications, HR, science and business development teams.
Our role was to carry the new identity into everything the company produced: the gender pay gap narrative reports published each year, the guides that brought people back to its sites in 2020 and 2021, the myVectura intranet, the Champion Awards, the toolkits that helped managers lead change, and the posters and infographics that explained the CDMO strategy to the people who would deliver it. For the commercial and scientific teams we designed a guide to the drug development journey for prospective customers, a technology strategy deck and a webinar deck on bioequivalence.
Each internal programme needed a mark of its own, so we designed a family of them: badges and wordmarks for leadership development, diversity and inclusion, customer experience, cyber security, finance and ScienceLive, each built from the parent brand’s forms and colour so that a poster for any one of them was recognisably Vectura’s.
The gender pay gap reports show the method. The statutory figures are a page of percentages. Set as icon rows and dials beside the quartile tables, they can be read at a glance and compared year on year, and the four covers differ only in the year.
